Frequently Asked Questions
Am I allowed to have my house numbers painted on my curb?
- Most cities REQUIRE you to have house numbers visible from the street.
- Different cities, towns, and homeowner associations (HOAs) have their own rules.
- Your city’s ordinances and codes will confirm if you are allowed to have your house number painted on the curb.
How soon can I get my Visible Curb completed?
- We operate on a 1st-come, 1st-served basis and try to do daily projects in the same area to increase efficiency and reduce travel time.
- We will keep you informed of our arrival date.
Where should I locate my curb numbers?
- It’s your choice! Putting your Visible Curb near a mailbox can protect the curb paint from being damaged by car tires.
- Slanted or rounded curbs get different wear than vertical “boxy” curbs. Slanted curbs typically get tire-only wear damage, and vertical “boxy” curbs get sidewall and wheel damage if you choose an improper location for your Visible Curb installation.
- Rounded corners near a driveway or city block corner are more likely to be damaged by delivery vehicles’ wheels when the driver “cuts the corner” and causes tire abrasion or wheel damage.
Can I get a “custom” Visible Curb design done on my curb?
- Yes…we love doing custom designs and colors for curbs!
- Fees for more complex designs can be higher (more design time, template production, and paint dry time).
Do I have to be home for my Visible Curb work to be done?
- No, as long as you have satisfied your payment requirements, we can prioritize your visible curb for installation for our first available time.
- If you have a custom Visible Curb design request, we will need you to approve it before any work begins.
How do I prepare for my Visible Curb application?
- We need dry conditions to paint your Visible Curb and cannot paint within 60 days on fresh concrete curbs (need time for chemical reactions and moisture content to dissipate)
- Hose off and brush away any accumulated dirt or debris 3-4 days before we show up to allow for proper drying.
- Edge or trim all grass or weeds away from the curb.
- Don’t run your irrigation the night before we arrive.
- On the day of your Visible Curb visit, make sure you don’t park any cars within 1.5 car lengths backward of your Visible Curb location. This allows us a place to park our vehicles for efficiency and safety from approaching traffic.
How long will my curb paint last?
- Let’s face it…Texas summers are brutal as concrete curbs can heat to 120-140 degrees in the summer and cool down to single digits in the winter.
- The longevity of your Visible Curb is determined by the chemical composition of your concrete, sun exposure, abuse from tires and wheels, trees dropping leaves, acorns, pine straw, etc.
- With proper care and our UV protectant spray, our goal is for your Visible Curb to look terrific for 3-5 years before you see any fading or irregularities. Rest easy knowing your Visible Curb will be clearly visible for many years before needing repair or replacement.
How should I care for my Visible Curb?
- We construct your Visible Curb to be durable and low maintenance.
- Clean the curb gently with water, mild soap, and a soft brush only as needed.
- Ideally, re-apply a UV sealant annually to protect your Visible Curb paint pigments (available at stores like Lowes or Home Depot) to keep the paint fresh.
Is there a warranty on my Visible Curb?
- We offer a 1-year warranty covering wear from normal environmental exposure, including sun, rain, and paint adhesion application defects.
- Physical damage from vehicle tires or wheels, hail, lighting, concrete cracks, stains, etc., are not within our control and not covered by our warranty.
